so...out of random curiosity, i wondered what makes you decide to comment or not in regards to blogs you read?
I have no idea what makes blogs popular or not, and what makes people comment or not!
ReplyDeleteFor me, I've noticed that I succumb a bit to the "mob mentality" thing-- if a blog is already really popular, I'll be more likely to join it. But I'm not sure if the same thing motivates me to comment as well...?
If someone comments regularly on my posts, then I definitely try to return the favor. It's so exciting to get responses, and so easy to leave comments-- so I think of it as a huge return on very little investment (it's someone else's return, but that's fine with me!)
the only other thing I can think of is if I immediately think of a response when I read their question-- then I'll definitely leave a comment. But sometimes, nothing comes to mind, as hard as I try.
I'll generally leave a comment on a friend's blog if I have something useful to say. I never leave comments on regular sites because nobody ever really says anything useful anyway. This may or may not have been useful and/or interesting.
