ok, so you all know how much i love me some trader joe's honey & sesame covered almonds but here is another nut to love....emerald cocoa roast almonds!
i first tried these at my sister in law's baby shower. the host had a cute little dish filled with chocolate covered something or other--i didn't care what was hiding beneath--
the chocolate sounded that good. (which is odd given that i usually don't have a chocolate tooth)
what a delightful surprise to find that it was an almond-and it wasn't drenched in chocolate; just coated with a beautiful cocoa dust....like the last sprinkle of snow in spring.
so, go nuts for cocoa roast almonds--i sure do!

i've been hooked ever since. they come in a nice canister or a box of little packages--which helps me have some self control...(Target usually has the best price!)

Ugh! I thought those cocoa almonds were horrible myself. And that was before I read the ingredients and learned about all the toxic chemicals they put in them. Why couldn't they just make a nice lightly coated dark chocolate almond using ingredients instead of chemicals? I love me some good dark chocolate covered almonds. Now I'm going to have to try to find some.
ReplyDeleteHey, I never said anything about nutritional info...I said I liked them :) And I like the dusting vs. the coat of chocolate...so I guess I will just have to deal with the chemicals...maybe they will make me stronger :) ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSo, if you want to skip the "chemicals", then opt for the Trader Joes version...that's where I got them for baby's baptism. Super yum!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you turned me on to 'EM.. I have no clue what's on EM.. heck I'm not even sure they are really almonds underneath that chemical chocolate concoction but i sure do like EM.. :)
